Three checks with different purposes
An XSD check tests the XML structure, data types and required elements. Business checks examine relationships between values, such as vehicle category, masses, fuel and approval references. The receiving authority then applies its own checks. A schema-valid file alone is not evidence of authority acceptance.

Work from a representative vehicle
Start with one VIN, its approved type, variant and version, and the production values used for its CoC. Use the schema version required by the selected submission channel. Resolve errors in the source record or template so that the next vehicle does not inherit the same mistake.

Keep the correction and the result together
Retain the validation result with the vehicle record and the XML version it describes. After correcting a value, validate again before signing. If a signed file changes, repeat the signing step. Record the receiving system's response separately from the internal validation result.

Is XSD validation the same as ICM validation?
No. XSD validation checks the XML schema. The IVI Checking Module checks additional vehicle-data rules. Keep these results separate and review the receiving NAP's response.
Can I test with our own vehicle data?
Yes. Request a workflow demonstration using a representative vehicle category and a redacted sample. Agree the schema version and the expected checks before the demonstration.
Does a successful check guarantee submission acceptance?
No. Signing, manufacturer access, channel requirements and the receiving authority's checks still apply.
