Use the current VCA requirements
VCA publishes UK IVI files and API guidance. Its process requires manufacturer account authorisation and separate test and production access. A successful integration test is required before a production API token is granted. Check the official guidance linked below when defining your project.

Define an end-to-end test
Choose an example that represents the vehicle and approval scope you intend to submit. Check data mapping, XML validation and signing, then capture the submission outcome. Include an error case so the team can demonstrate correction and resubmission without losing the original record.

Agree the integration scope before rollout
Electronic COC Platform teams can review the UK workflow with your homologation and IT teams. Define who owns vehicle data, who can release the file and who handles a failed submission. Confirm the required interface and manufacturer access before committing to an automated production flow.

Can we reuse our EU workflow unchanged?
Do not assume that an EU configuration is sufficient. Compare the current UK file and interface requirements with your existing workflow before testing.
What should a VCA integration demonstration show?
It should follow one vehicle from source data to a signed XML, a submission result and a handled error. Agree which parts are demonstrated and which depend on your account access.
What information helps scope the project?
Vehicle categories, approval schemes, expected volume, source systems and the status of your manufacturer account help define the technical work.
